Sub:- Implementation of the recommendations of Kamlesh Chandra Committee on Gramin Dak Sevaks.

Respected Sir,
The Komlesh Chandra committee was constituted to study and make recommendations on the pay and service conditions of the GDS employees. The committee submitted its report on 27-11-2016 almost a year back. After scrutiny and approval by the Hon’ble Communication minister of state, the recommendations were forwarded to your ministry for your approval. As is learnt, some further clarification were sought by your hon’ble self. It is learnt that the same has been resubmitted for your honour’s approval.

It is almost a year since the report was submitted. The recommendation of the seventh CPC have been implemented long back. The GDS employees have been left high and dry. They are looking forward to your honour so that they may also get the benefit of pay revision etc as the departmental employees have already enjoyed.

We, on behalf of the 2.60 lakh GDS employees urge that your honour may record necessary approval so that the case may move forward.

Departmental building of Aliha Branch Post Office constructed by villagers of Aliha at their own contribution

Departmental building of Aliha Branch Post Office constructed by villagers of Aliha at their own contribution as a token of their love for the post office.

The new Departmental small building of Aliha Branch Post Office in account with Dungura Sub Post Office 758182 under Bhadrak Division in Odidha Circle was inaugurated on  12.10.2017 during celebration of National Postal Week. The build is constructed by Villagers under Aliha Branch Post Office unde the leadership of one villager-Shri Babaji Rae, with their own contribution as a token of love for the Post Office. The BO building stands over a patch of land measuring A003 decimal donated by Sri Sukadev Panda of Aliha village, registered in the name ofDepartment of Posts (on behalf of President of India). The villagers celebrated the inauguration by arranging a meeting at their own cost with provision of Prasad (vegetarian Meal) for all guests and audience. Sri B B Mohanty SPOs, Bhadrak who was invited as Chief Guest inaugurated the new BO building some other postal staff also attended the inaugural function on invitation.

GDS MEMBERSHIP VERIFICATION PROCESS STOPPED.

IMPLEMENTATION OF GDS COMMITTEE REPORT DELAYED FOR ONE YEAR, STILL PENDING WITH FINANCE MINISTRY.

HOLD PROTEST DEMONSTRATIONS AT ALL CENTRES AND IN FRONT OF ALL OFFICES ON 23.10.2017.

FEDERAL SECRETARIAT WILL MEET AND DECLARE FURTHER COURSE OF ACTION.

Dear Comrades, 

Government has unleashed a sudden and most damaging attack on Post office Small Savings Schemes. Notifications are already issued permitting all Nationalised Banks and three Private Banks ( ICICI Bank , AXIS Bank and HDFC Bank) to accept deposits for all Small Savings Schemes viz ; Recurring Deposit (RD) , Time Deposits (TD) , Monthly Income Scheme (MIS) Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS) , Sukanya Samridhi Account (SSA) , Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) and National Savings Certificate (NSC VIII issue) with effect from 10th October 2017. 

This is a great blow to the Post office Small Savings Schemes and will be a threat to the job security of Postal Employees and also MPKBY /SAS Agents. About 40% of the Revenue and about 50% of the workload of Post office depends on the Post office Small Savings Schemes. Outsourcing of POSSS work to Banks will result in steady fall in Revenue and Workload of Postal Department.

GDS Committee Report , though submitted to Govt on 24th November 2017 , is still pending with Finance Ministry for approval. GDS Membership verification process has been suddenly stopped by the Government.

Overall situation in Postal Department is worsening day by day and resentment of the Employees is mounting. 

NFPE CHQ views the above situation with grave concern and calls upon the entirety of Postal and RMS employees including GDS and Casual labourers to conduct mass protest demonstrations at all Centres and in front of all offices on 23rd OCTOBER 2017.

Urgent meeting of NFPE Federal Secretariat to be held shortly will announce further course of action.

डाक कर्मियों ने स्वच्छता अभियान में निभाई भागीदारी

समस्तीपुर: दलसिंहसराय में मुख्य डाकघर के परिसर के साथ-साथ आसपास के क्षेत्रों को प्रधानमंत्री स्वच्छता अभियान के तहत पूरी तरह सफाई की गयी. इस कार्यक्रम का नेतृत्व डाक निरीक्षक समीर कुमार सिन्हा ने किया. उन्होंने इस अवसर पर उपस्थित डाककर्मियों के अलावा आमलोगों को संबोधित करते हुये कहा कि सफाई से न केवल मन स्वच्छ रहता है. बल्कि समाज के लोगों में भी एक तरह की शांति बनी रहती है.

उन्होने प्रधानमंत्री के द्वारा चलाये गये स्वच्छता अभियान में सभी से अपनी भागीदारी निभाने की अपील करते हुये कहा कि स्वच्छता में ही ईश्वर का निवास होता है. स्वच्छ रहने पर काम की गति काफी तेज होती है. उन्होने सभी से नियमित साफ-सफाई करने की भी अपील की है.

उप डाकपाल अशोक कुमार पांडेय ने भी उपस्थित लोगों से आग्रह किया कि चाहे वह घर हो या कार्यालय सभी लोग ईमानदारी पूर्वक इस अभियान को सफल बनाने में लग जाये. मौके पर राम कुमार चौधरी, संजय सुमन, महेंद्र राय, मुकेश कुमार कर्ण, जालंधर पंडित, रामाकांत राय, जगदीश महतो, सहित कई डाककर्मी उपस्थित थे.

To be a successful GDS official – 5 thing you need to know!

Dear friend, if you are a GDS official, its not matter that you are a BPM, MD or MC; you need to know the 5 important point to be a successful GDS official. Yes, I talk to them who working in Branch Post Office.

=> Time & Work:- You need to maitain your prescribed time in your workplace. If you are coming to office regularly in working hour, public will respect you as a responsible official. If need some extra time, give more. Do not forget that this is your work and your family’s security. When you are working for your office and your customers no work will be pending and customers will satisfy in your work and also they will obey your instructions in futute.

=> Need & Clean:- In your office time turned your mind into the work. Do need and clean work. Clean your office premises regularly, this will attract customers to come to the office and also change their mind about Post office. Maintain separate Journal and Specimen register for all schemes. Keep your Order Book safe and secure please. Write down BO Journal and BO Account Book daily. Maintain Stocks Book, Error Book etc. Keep sufficient stock of SB-3, SB-103, SB-7, SB-26, MS-87, PLI-2 etc. Keep sufficient cash and stamp within limit. So that no one customer will go back.

=> Be a Boss:- If you are a BPM then you need to be a Boss because if your office staff have not respect in your work then customers also follow them. Convert your mind into helping mind help your staff and customers as possible and they will help back. See Postman Book regularly discussed how to deliver valuable article quickly or why the article is undelivered. Help him to deliver quickly. Follow your MC, and instruct him to not wast time when he/she is in duty for exchanging mail. Understand him, trust him and help him to be a boss. Because when you give something someone’s they will give you back. Behave your staff as a friend and family member but of course like a professional officials. Mind that understanding is the best way to work together.

=> Keep Communication:- Keep a needy communication with SO, HO, Sub-Divisional and Divisional office and follow the instructions what will come. Stay connected with customers when they need you they will contact you easily. Give them all schemes related updates and changes information.

=> Work as Businessman:- Take your work as business because no businessman don’t want to lose their business. Think it as a profitable business as they’re have many Incentives to earn more. Do conveyance customers to do TD, RPLI. Keep a target to Increase your existing business. There has many Incentives schemes like PMSBY, PMJJY, NREGS wages payment etc. Finally there is a lot of respect as you are a central government employee.

Dear friend try to follow the above instructions and also try to pass departmental examination. Once you pass the exam there will be a secure and stable life waiting for you.
