27-07-2017 - 'MARCH TO SANCHAR BHAWAN' BY AIPEU-GDS - A GRAND SUCCESS

AIPEU-GDS conducted the agitation programme “March to Sanchar Bhawan” in Delhi today (27-07-2017) with the full support of NFPE. The progamme was inaugurated by Com.A.K.Padmanabhan, Vice President, CITU with an inspiring speech explaining the attacks of the policies of the BJP Govt on working class and employees sections of this country. A procession was conducted with hundreds of GDS comrades holding flags & banners with slogans from Jantar Mantar to Sanchar Bhawan. But, because of Parliament sessions going on, the police not permitted the rally ahead to Sanchar Bhawan. The procession lead by Com.M.Krishnan, Secretary General, Confederation, Com,R.N.Parashar, Secretary General, NFPE & General Secretary, Gr.C., Com.Giriraj Singh, President NFPE & General Secretary, R-III., Com.Vikram Shah, General Secretary, P4., Com.V.Tiwary, General Secretary, SBCO., Com.S.B.Yadav, General Secretary, AIPAEA., Com. Com.P.Mohan, General Secretary, Causal & Contingent Union, Com.Manoharan, Wkg. President, NFPE, Com.BoJoy Gopal Sur, President, Com.P.Pandurangarao, G/S, AIPEU-GDS and many other leader of NFPE & other organizations.

A meeting has been conducted with large gathering in the Jantar Mantar itself under the presidentship of Com.Bijoy Gopal Sur, All India President, AIPEU-GDS. Com.P.Pandurangarao, General Secretary welcomed the distinguished leaders, CHQ Office bearers, Circle Secretaries, GDS comrades represented from 16 circles.

Com.R.N.Parashar, Secretary General, NFPE made an elaborate speech on the current issues of GDS and assured that NFPE shall take care of GDS at all levels. Com.M.Krishnan,Secretary General, Confederation explained the issues of GDS and appeal all to make the AIPEU-GDS as No.1 recognized Union. Com.V.A.N.Namboodiri, former General Secretary, BSNLEU, Com.Santhosh Kumar, President, AIPAEA., Com.Balwinder singh, Fin. Secretary, Gr.C (CHQ), Com.Y.Nagabhushanam & Com.D.Sivagurunathan, Casual & Contingent Union also addressed in the meeting. In addition, all the General Secretaries of NFPE affiliated unions mentioned above also addressed the rally.

The AIPEU-GDS CHQ leaders viz., Com.Virendra Sharma, Wkg President, Com.Nirmal Singh, Vice President, Com.Jai Prakash singh, AGS., Com.Kumaran Nambiyar, Fin Secretary, Com.Harish Kumar, Asst Fin. Secretary, Com.Chandra N.Chaudary, Orgg Gen Secretary & Com.Ambika Sharma also addressed in the meeting.

The programme concluded with the vote thanks offered by Com.Pamodkumar singh, Circle Secretary, Uttar Pradesh with the assurance of obtaining 90% membership in favour of AIPEU-GDS from UP Circle.

Meeting ended with the slogan shouting by Com.Virendra Sharma demanding the Govt & Department for the earliest implementation of Shri Kamalesh Chandra Committee.

After the procession, a memorandum was submitted to Hon’ble Minister of Communications by the Office bearers, which is published below.

27-07-2017 -- MARCH TO SANCHAR BHAWAN - NEW DLEHI BY AIPEU GDS

Dear Comrades,

AIPEU GDS conducting the agitation programme "MARCH TO SANCHAR BHAWAN" ON 27-07-2017. 

Already thousands of GDS comrades are on the way to Delhi to participate in the progamme.

All CHQ Office bearers / Circle Secretaries / Divisional Secretaries are requesting to direct all our GDS comrades to assemble at Jantar Mantar by 09.30 am.

All are requested to assemble at Jantar Mantar at 09.30 am to start our march to Sanchar Bhawan programme demanding all positive recommendations of Shri Kamalesh Chandra Committee at the earliest.

Our programme should be in a peaceful & disciplined manner  by exhibiting flags & banners of Circles & Divisions.

Make the programme a grand success

The CHQ is requesting all GDS comrades & participants in the programme, please make your own arrangements for stayal & food etc., because of financial constaints of our Union, we could not be able to do any feasible arrangements this time in Delhi. Kindly bear with the situation.

Recommended Allowance by GDS Pay Committee 2016 - An Overview.

Existing Allowance for Gramin Dak Sevak Recommended by Previous GDS Pay Committee which is adding to the GDS TRCA at present.

Recommended Allowance By GDS Pay Committee 2016.

Dearness Allowance : -

GDS should be paid same percentage of DA as paid to the central government employees from time to time.

Composite Allowance : -


-:GDSs Working in GDS Post Offices:-
BPMs providing GDS Post Office Accommodation which meets the prescribed standards.
@Rs. 1600/-
BPMs providing Accommodation which does not meets the prescribed standards.
@Rs. 1100/-
BPMs having Post Office in rent free government Accommodation and staying in the Post Village.
@rs. 1100/-
Assistant BPMs working in GDS post office and staying in the post village should be paid.
@Rs. 800/-
-:GDSs working in Departmental Post offices:-
Dak Sevaks working in “X” Class Cities/Towns @Rs. 2400/-
Dak Sevaks working in “Y” Class Cities/Towns @Rs. 1600/-
Dak Sevaks working in “Z” Class Cities/Towns @Rs.800/- 
Cash Conveyance Allowance : -
BPM/ABPM/Dak Savak may be paid minimum Rs. 50/- rupees for conveyance of cash up to Rs. 50,000/-. They may be paid Rs. 10/- for conveyance of every additional Rs. 10,000/-. 
Children Education Allowance : -
GDSs should be paid children Education Allowance @Rs. 6000/- per child per annum for maximum of two children. This amount may be paid in two installments. 
Combined Duty Allowance : -
-:Recommended Daily Rates:-
  • BPMs doing combined duty of ABPM in same office. @Rs. 65/- per working day for maximum 89 days at a stretch.
  • ABPMs doing combined duty of BPM in same office. @Rs. 75/- per working day for maximum 89 days at a stretch.
  • Dak Sevaks doing combined duty of another Dak Sevaks in same office. @Rs. 65/- per working day for maximum 89 days at a stretch.
Revenue Linked Allowance : -
  • BPMs should be paid Revenue Linked Allowance @ Rs. 10% of the total amount of additional revenue generated beyond prescribed norms in a month. Revenue Linked Allowance will not be applicable for other GDS.
Risk and Hardship Allowance : -
  • Risk and Hardship Allowance should be paid @ Rs. 500/- per month to the GDSs working in areas which are indentified for payment of Risk and Hardship Allowance as per 7th CPC recommendations.

Good news for all candidates who could not get an OTP on their old registered mobile! Gramin Dak Sevak’s latest update says that you can now get an OTP on your New Mobile Number.

  • Click on the above link to change your Mobile Number.
  • Put your Registration Number of your GDS application.
  • Type in your old mobile number.
  • Then Click on Submit.
  • Your new number will now get registered with Gramin Dak Sevak.

Previous Updates:

The Gramin Dak Sevak Dates has been extended for North East region, previously the last date for North East region was 5th June 2017. Now you can apply for Gramin Dak Sevak until the 19th June 2017.

In a recent development, the GDS extended the last dates to apply for Uttarakhand! The new last date to apply for GDS exam (Uttarakhand postal circle) is date is 2nd June 2017.

Indian Postal Department had recently released the official notification for the Post Office Recruitment 2017. Approximately 21000+ Vacancies are announced for various post of Mail Guard, Postman, PA, MTS and other posts in different India Post states/circles. Since more candidates wanted to apply for the exam, the Indian Posts had extended the Last date for: Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Assam, Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Postal circles.
